What is so intrinsically disturbing about cancer? Everyone knows it is a process that can kill, and so we humans, constantly if subconsciously concerned about the brevity of life, are naturally frightened of something that is so often responsible for our demise.One in four of you reading this Website will die of cancer. But is the Knowledge that a tumor may kill us a good enough explanation for the dread that is conjured by the 'cancer'? After all, more of us will die of heart problem than of cancer, yet the thought of a heart attack, although distressing, is more tolerable than the thought of cancer.
